On January 9th, 2020 at the Anath Ashram, a boys orphanage, in Vadodora, India —The Everyday Gita delivered another nourishing meal to roughly 30 hungry children who’ve lost their families. A traditional, home-cooked Indian plate was served consisting of the following food items:
Vegetable sabji
Samosa
Puri (bread)
Dal (lentil soup)
Rice
Gajar nu halwa (carrot pudding dessert)
Most of the orphan boys come from poor villages seeking a better life - one filled with love and support from a community of peers and mentors - in order to fill the void of their late mothers and fathers. They all attend school and are in grades K-12. In fact, the second round of boys that sat to eat with us had just arrived after a visit to the local science fair.
The orphanage depends on donations to keep the hostel running and raising boys to become healthy and successful young men. So, thank you. From the abundance of generous contributions towards The Everyday Gita we will continue to support selfless giving groups like Anath Aashram who share our mission: to help the souls of those less fortunate.
Jai Shree Krishna.
